One Massachusetts School Graduates Over A Dozen Sets Of Twins (And Triplets)
It’s that time of year. High school graduations are upon us. You probably know someone with kids graduating. Maybe one of your own children is graduating. Either way, you will more than likely attend at least one graduation this season. And Westford Academy is graduating over a dozen sets of twins and triplets!
In one Massachusetts High School, the 2023 graduating class is just a little more special than the others. Westford Academy is graduating 15 sets of twins and one set of triplets! There are over 400 students graduating from Westford Academy this year so the actual ceremony will sound a bit repetitive with this many sets of twins. According to the Dean of Students Daniel Twomey, they’ve all grown up together and played sports together and now they’re graduating together. It really is a feel good story for the ages.
Westford Academy’s graduation ceremony was supposed to be held last Friday, June 2nd. However, because of weather, it was postponed to Saturday night, June 3rd. It definitely made for an amazing ceremony. A cool fact about these students: about 98% of those graduating will go onto higher education. But in regards to the sets of twins and triplets, ALL OF THEM (100%) will be moving onto college. Because of that, and various other factors, Principal Jim Antonelli says the bond between all of these students is something that’ll never be broken. He tells WHDH: “Five years from now when they come back for their reunion. It’s gonna be amazing,” Antonelli said. “This particular class, it will really click with, ‘what’s happening with the twins.’”
And believe it or not, 2023 won’t be the last time Westford Academy graduates an eye opening number of twins. Principal Antonelli says next year’s graduating class will contain six sets of twins. Congratulations to the Westford Academy class of 2023, whether you’re a twin or not. Best of luck in all of your future endeavors.
