Thomas Rhett Releases Two Christmas Songs
“We start celebrating Christmas early around here,” Thomas Rhett says in a new Instagram post. “Hope y’all do too.”
And with that, he announced the release of two new recordings: an original called “Christmas In The Country” as well as “The Christmas Song.”
“Christmas in the Country,” as the title suggests, is a country song about the holiday. “The Christmas Song” takes a very traditional approach (including a string section) to the classic Nat “King” Cole song from 1946. The song has often been covered over the decades: Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, John Denver and Celine Dion are among the artists who have recorded or performed it.
Check out both of the songs below.
Brian has been working in pop culture and media for about three decades: he’s worked at MTV, VH1, SiriusXM, CBS and Loudwire. Besides working as a writer and an editor-in-chief, he’s also appeared on air as a pundit, guested on radio shows and hosted podcasts. Over the years, he’s interviewed the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, the members of U2, Beyonce, Pink, Usher, Stevie Nicks, Lorde… and is grateful to have had the chance to interview Joe Strummer of the Clash and Tom Petty.
