Boston Red Sox legend, Big Papi, David Ortiz, has meant a lot for the game of baseball, and for the people of New England. He’s been there for us, on the field since 2004, helping to bring Red Sox fans our first World Series Championship in 86 years. After the Boston Marathon Bombings, he was there for us, with his whole heart, his large presence and big spirit, guiding us with words we needed to hear, and will never forget.

Now, Big Papi finally gets his big weekend, with an induction into baseball’s Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.  Yesterday, he boarded a private jet over at Hanscom Air Force Base, before taking off for his Hall of Fame Induction ceremony this weekend, he spoke to the press.

Three World Series Championships later, 541 homeruns, broken records, and a very large and passionate fan base around the world, Big Papi’s well deserved recognition and induction is finally happening. Big Papi’s big weekend is on! There will be all kinds of events through the weekend for the Hall of Fame, but the Induction Ceremony will take place on Sunday at 1:3o. You can watch it on the MLB Network. There will also be a live simulcast of the ceremony carried on MLB.com
Another Ortiz will be in Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. And she will be singing the National Anthem! Big Papil will join Golden Days Era Committee electees Gil Hodges, Jim Kaat, Minnie Minoso and Tony Oliva, along with Early Baseball Era electees Bud Fowler and Buck O’Neil in Cooperstown.
