WATCH: Chris Stapleton Stops His Show And Kicks Out Rowdy Fan At XFINITY Center
Country superstar, Chris Stapleton, is not a man of many words when he performs on stage, but watch him stop down his show and kick a rowdy fan out of the venue.
Chris Stapleton was not just singing, “Fire Away” last night. He was also pretty fired up when someone in the crowd acted rowdy enough for him to stop midway through his song and tell them to leave. Even his wife, Morgane Stapleton pointed out the two people causing commotion and told security to find them.
On June 10th, Chris Stapleton performed his second night of his “All American Road Show Tour” at XFINITY Center in Mansfield, MA. Charlie Crockett and War & Treaty opened for him.
“Starting Over” For Chris Stapleton
In Chris Stapleton’s fourth song into his set he began playing, “Starting Over.” The guitars began the song like the record. Stapleton began singing. He only got about 70 seconds into the song when he stopped abruptly. The band followed his lead and also stopped playing. The house lights came on and that’s when Chris noticed something happening in the audience that made him feel uncomfortable.

Here’s What Happened
What did Chris see see? What made him turn the lights on? According to Jason Berthiaume, who was standing five feet from the rowdy fan, here’s what happened:
“The guy that got kicked out had definitely been drinking and tried to push his was into the tightly packed crowd who had been there waiting to hear Chris for a couple hours. As you can imagine, not much space to move, let alone a new person to enter who decided to show up late and drunk. When people wouldn’t let him in, he decided to argue and tried to start a fight….you can imagine why we cheered when Chris actually saw what was happening and addressed it.”
That’s when Chris got on the microphone and said to them “We’re all trying to have a good time. You do too. And if this is what you think’s a good time then get the hell out.”
He instructed his band to start over the song, so ironically he started over his song called “Starting Over.”
The crowd applauded Chris for stopping his set. There have been many instances where artists in non-country genres have stopped down their shows to help fans in the audience. Adele, Billie Eilish, and Harry Styles are a few of them.
Chris Stapleton is off to Syracuse, NY to sing the show that was rescheduled due to the Canadian Wildfires. Then he will continue his All American Road Show Tour all around the country. He will be back in New England at Gilford’s Bank of NH Pavilion on August 10, August 11, and August 12th for three sold out shows.
