Natural Gas Is Currently Being Turned Off In Parts Of Woburn
National Grid is in the process of shutting off gas to several structures in Woburn.
According to Boston 25, there is an over-pressurization issue underground near Wyman Street and Lowell Street.
At this time, it is believed around 300 households are affected, but no known fires or explosions have been reported with this incident.
As you recall, nearly 70 structures caught fire and one person died after a similar problem in Lawrence and North Andover last month — Due to overpressurization of lines owned by Columbia Gas.
Due to that tragedy, National Grid is taking extra precautions to ensure all residents are safe while they repair the lines.
As of this posting, there have been no reports of any evacuations.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates as they become available.
