Maren Morris Is Blocked on Twitter By Chris Janson, Janson Apologizes
Kelsea Ballerini made headlines over the weekend when, as we reported, she criticized Chase Rice on twitter for playing a concert with more than 1,000 people.
Ballerini said on Instagram, “Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now. @ChaseRiceMusic, We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait.”
Meanwhile, Maren Morris retweeted the people in this audience, along with the presenters of this show, are assuring that conscientious musicians won't be able to work their jobs for a while, and that conscientious audiences won't be able to see shows for the foreseeable, and to be blunt, that fucking sucks. https://t.co/QwB85m0Phv
Maren Morris was blocked from Chris Janson’s Twitter account and Morris, who always speaks her mind, pointed it out.
Maren Tweeted out yesterday (6/28) responding to being blocked by Janson, “ummmmmm what did I DO?!”

But, like Rice, Janson was criticized on Twitter for also playing a show over the weekend. One industry insider tweeted, “Oh look, Chris Janson also doesn’t care about the health of his fans! I used to work for his management company but they laid me off in April so now I can come right out and say that this is reprehensible, yay!”

Both guys shared videos of fans who were seen standing shoulder-to-shoulder in the crowd, defying the government’s social distancing guidelines. Most of the concert-goers did not appear to be wearing protective face masks. Their videos have since been deleted.
In 2017, Maren and Chris served as opening acts together on Sam Hunt’s “15 in a 30 Tour.”
