Kane Brown: ‘Country Music Is Such A Broad Scene’
Kane Brown just released the video for his song about diversity, “World Wide Beautiful” with children playing the roles of adults. The video has been viewed almost a half-million times this week.
“It’s great that country music is being so diverse right now, especially, me and Darius Rucker and Jimmy Allen and Mickey Guyton,” he told us. “And I know that you saw how it’s been going on with, you know, like ‘Old Town Road’ coming in. I mean, there’s black artists coming in and trying to be a part of the country genre, which I think is awesome. It’s different, but it’s cool. And I’m different. So it’s just awesome to see it.”
He adds, “Country music is such a broad scene. In high school I’d put country music on and they’d be like, ‘Oh, man, come on’ but then I’d have that other friend that would get in a car and they would put country music on. And I was like, ‘You got to love it.’ And so for me, my friend groups didn’t listen to it at the time but I’ve pulled them into it now. So they’re learning about all these different artists.”
