Happy National Girl Scout Day!
March 12th commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia! Juliette envisioned an organization that would teach girls courage, confidence, and character.
Today, there are 2.5 million Girl Scouts—1.7 million girl members and 750,000 adult members working primarily as volunteers. G.I.R.L. stands for Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader).
According to their website, Girl Scout alums make up 69% of current U.S. senators and 52% of female business leaders.
