Baker Announces ‘VaxMillions’ Vaccine Lottery Program
Massachusetts Lottery and Gov. Charlie Baker announced a new COVID-19 vaccination lottery program Tuesday as an incentive to get more people protected against the coronavirus.
The giveaway, called VaxMillions, will offer $1 million dollars to 5 winners over the age of 18, and a college scholarship to 5 winners between the ages of 12 and 17. The $300,000 scholarship is for a 529 College Savings Plan managed by the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) and the funds can be applied to cover tuition, room and board, and related expenses.
Massachusetts residents who are fully vaccinated and received their vaccination in the state are eligible to register starting July 1st. Residents can enter the giveaway online, and a call center will also be available to anyone who does not have access to the internet or requires assistance. The first of the five weekly drawings will begin the week of July 26th and will continue through August 27th.
