Blake Shelton Performs A Song He Co-Wrote With Ex- Miranda Lambert
Blake Shelton played at a private event over the weekend (7/23) and sang a song he doesn’t often sing, a song he co-wrote with his ex-wife Miranda Lamber,t called “Over You.”
The song is inspired by the loss of his brother Richie in a car accident in 1990.
The sold-out benefit honoring Oklahoma veterans included dinner, a silent auction in addition to a special appearance by Shelton.
One fan captured the performance on her hone and posted it to Instagram, writing, “Last night Blake delivered a RARE & BEAUTIFUL performance of “Over You”. A song he co-wrote about the death of his brother. 7.23.21 #Force50Benefit.”
Gwen Stefani also appeared at the event surprising the crowd by singing “Happy Anywhere” with her husband.
“Over You” went on to win a CMA Award for Song Of The Year in 2012 and an ACM Award for Song Of The Year in 2013.
