‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Filming Officially Underway in Providence
It’s official… filming for ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ has begun in Providence, RI!
Over the past two weeks, film crews have been seen setting up in various places in Providence. First, they filmed last Tuesday and Wednesday at La Salle Academy. A sign outside the private Catholic school advised anyone entering the area that Fairy Dust Productions, the company producing the movie, could film or make audio recordings of people in the school and that the movie company would own those recordings. According to Providence Journal, filming seemed to be going on inside the school, even as the students were inside. Movie extras were also seen on the grounds outside the school and on the public sidewalk in front of it.
Now, this week they are shooting at Chase Farm Park and have built a life-size village said to portray Salem, Massachusetts in 1670. They are prepping to film a flashback scene that will give the impression of the entire village being on fire with a pyrotechnic stunt, seen in the photos and video below. Due to this set, there will be periodic closures of Route 123 near Chase Park throughout the week.
‘Hocus Pocus 2’ is set to be released on Disney+ in fall 2022, but there has been no official premiere date set just yet.

The state DEM sent an air quality specialist to inspect the 'Hocus Pocus 2' filming site as part of the agency's review of an open burning permit the production had applied for to burn down the village, according to DEM spokesman.
