To celebrate 5,000 shows and nearly 96 years of history the Opry launched a new exhibit called “Opry Memories: Celebrating 5,000 Saturday Night Broadcasts,” and features artifacts from Opry stars ranging from Luke Combs to Dolly Parton.
WSM began to air what would become the Grand Ole Opry in 1925 as a radio show, which has been on the air longer than any other broadcast program of any medium anywhere in the world. The program has continued through war, natural disasters, and most recently the global pandemic.
