Blake Shelton At Indy 500, Thinking About His Dad and Brother
Blake Shelton’s Memorial Day weekend was spent at the Indy 500 where he served as Grand Marshal, and his mind was on his late father Dick and late brother Richie.
Blake posted images of him and Jimmie Johnson and with the day’s trophy, “Thank you #Indy500!!!! What a weekend… wish my dad was able to see that. Thank you, @JimmieJohnson, for letting him, and my brother have a spot on your helmet. Thinking about them extra today along with all the heroes who have served our country.”
Shelton’s father, Dick, died in Oklahoma at age 71, following a period of declining health. Shelton’s brother, Richie, died in 1990 as a result of a car crash when Blake was 14 years old.
