I Can’t Stop Watching THIS: The Billionaire And The UMass Boston Grads
Did you see it… the video where a billionaire gives UMass Boston grads $1000 each? I have now watched this moment about 11 times, and I still get ALL the feels. Watch, share, and learn from this brilliant and generous billionaire businessman. Robert Hale Jr.spoke at yesterday’s graduation ceremony for the University of Massachusetts graduate students. But, it was his actions that spoke loudest. Make money, share money. Give joy. Feel joy. The gesture meant all that and more. We can all learn so much for this incredible moment. Seriously, I can’t stop watching this- The Billionaire and the UMass Boston Grads!
This one hits the heart.
At @UMassBoston commencement, billionaire commencement speaker Robert Hale just told 2,500 stunned graduates he is giving them each $1,000 — half to keep, he said, and half to give. pic.twitter.com/oCq3XThdoE

So, who is this generous Billionaire? According to The Patriot Ledger, Robert Hale Jr. is the CEO of a Quincy based business. His company is Granite Telecommunications. The two time Forbes’s billionaire list-maker and his wife are both actively involved in varous charities and philanthropic work. Last year, they both made a promise to donate $1 million each week to “local nonprofits committed to doing good on the South Shore and beyond,” according to the Ledger article.
The Billionaire businessman didn’t just deliver a powerful speech to the grads, he delivered 2 envelopes, as the students received their dipolomas. He told each of the 2,500 to keep one of the envelopes for themselves, and donate the other one to a charity of their choice. Robert Hale Jr. called it the “gife of giving.” He also added that whether they donate half of the money was completely up to them. though whether they donate the money is up to them. Seriously, I can’t stop watching this! The billionaire and the UMass Boston grads video warms my soul.
On repeat: Watch as a Billionaire gives UMass Boston grads $1000!
