Dan + Shay: First Duo To Coach On ‘The Voice’
NBC announced today (6/22) that Dan + Shay will join The Voice as coaches on Season 25. They will be the show’s first-ever coaching duo. Dan + Shay will serve as coaches alongside Reba McEntire, John Legend, and Chance the Rapper. Season 25 will air in the spring of 2024.
The network’s announcement comes ahead of the show’s 24th season, which airs this fall with the previously-announced coach lineup of Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, Legend, and McEntire in her debut season as coach. Season 24 will be the first season without veteran coach Blake Shelton, who has been with The Voice since it premiered in 2011.
Dan + Shay are familiar faces to The Voice, having served as Shelton’s advisors in Season 20. The duo retweeted the news from NBC’s The Voice on their Twitter, writing, “SO EXCITED FOR THIS!”
Many fans reacted to the guys’ news, including one who wrote, “I knew it was bout to be y’all. You’ve been quiet for TWO long…” Another fan commented, “I just screamed, lol soooo excited.” One more fan said, “WHAT!! So excited!! I’ll have to watch every episode! So cool for you guys!”

Reba was announced as the coach who will replace Blake Shelton on Season 24 of NBC’s The Voice. Reba mentored Blake Shelton’s team this season, causing some to speculate that she might become a coach. Other Season 24 Voice coaches are Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend.
Walking The Voice red carpet at the show in May, Reba told People, “The country lane — I’m taking over for Blake, so I’m gonna represent country music. He’s got big boots. I don’t know what size those boots are, but they’re big, so I’m gonna really work hard to make him proud.”
Reba knows she has some real competition from Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani, who will also compete as a Coach in Season 24. She said, “I do understand that I need to go razzle-dazzle with Gwen being on there. Gwen’s always got the nicest outfits, so I really need to step up my game on that.”
