Trace Adkins Starring in New Country Music Drama ‘Monarch’
Trace Adkins has joined the cast of Fox’s Monarch, a new country music TV drama following “America’s first family of country music”.
Adkins joins previously announced cast members Susan Sarandon and Anna Friel.
According to Deadline, Adkins will play Albie Roman, “Texas Truthteller, reigning King of Country Music and husband of Dottie Cantrell Roman” (played by Sarandon).
The Romans are country royalty, but Deadline reports “the very foundation of their success is a lie. And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown Nicolette ‘Nicky’ Roman (Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy.”
Monarch will debut with a two-night premiere event on Jan. 30, following the NFL’s 2021-2022 season NFC championship game and will continue on Feb. 1.
