Dolly Parton Wins First Emmy Award for her Netflix Christmas Movie
Dolly Parton has many accolades under her belt and she can add Emmy winner to the list. The “9 to 5” singer won her first Emmy Award on Sunday night (Sept. 12) during the 2021 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Parton won for her role as executive producer of Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square , A Netflix Original film. The film won for Outstanding Television Movie and Outstanding Choreography for Scripted Programming.
Christmas on the Square was released in October 2020 on Netflix and features Parton, Christine Baranski, and Treat Williams. The film is about a woman who, while trying to sell her hometown’s land, is visited by an angel.
Christmas on the Square isn’t Parton’s first partnership with Netflix. Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, and her movie Dumplin’ all can be found on the streaming platform.
