Kelsea Ballerini Regrets Her Reaction To Morgan Wallen Controversy
Kelsea Ballerini has just released a book, Feel Your Way Through, which shares some of her most personal experiences through poetry, and in one of the poems, she admits that she regrets her reaction to Morgan Wallen’s situation in February of 2021 when he was caught on video using a racial slur and was dropped by his label and his agent.
At the time, Kelsea tweeted, “The news out of Nashville tonight does not represent country music.”

According to Ballerini’s new book, she received a ton of backlash from fans after the tweet.
The poem in the book titled, “The Right Side of History” reads, “Did I misstep? Did I misspeak? Did I f— up with that one tweet?”
During her interview this week with CBS Mornings, she said when asked about the mishap, “I can acknowledge a misstep. I have learned that sometimes, even in the purest intentions. You should keep your mouth shut and learn, and that’s what I’m doing now.”
Kelsea received a comment from Maren Morris at the time who responded to Ballerini’s comment saying that, in fact, Wallen’s comments were deeply representative of the country music community. Morris wrote at the time, “We all know it wasn’t his first time using that word. We keep them rich and protected at all costs with no recourse.”
