Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney Will Serve Jail Time For DUI
Former Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney will spend two days in a Nashville area jail after pleading guilty to DUI in September 2021.
The Tennessean reports that Rooney’s remaining sentence of 11 months, 27 days was suspended. Rooney will also lose his driver’s license. He will be eligible to apply for a restricted driver’s license for a vehicle with a built-in breathalyzer device.
Rooney, then 45, was arrested during the early morning of September 9, 2021, after a vehicle crash near Fieldstone Park, just north of Franklin.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s office reported Rooney, who lived in Nashville, crashed into a tree.
His suspended sentence will require him to report for jail time on June 8 by 3 p.m. He will also be required to complete a DUI training.
