Emu Sends Houston Police On High-Speed Chase
A wacky scene took place in Houston, Texas this week when police responded to a report of a “traffic hazard,” except nobody ran a red light or didn’t come to a complete stop.
Police were shocked to see an emu roaming the streets, and apparently the emu was in a state of shock as well. It took off running after Houston police turned their lights and sirens on and chased the bird.
A priceless video captured by a witness commuting home from work shows what she originally describes as an ostrich giving police a run for their money.
"Y'all see this ostrich? Somebody done lost they ostrich!" It wasn't an ostrich actually, but you can mark a Houston police chase with an emu off your bingo card. 😲 This witness's narration definitely made us laugh today.

After a while, police caught up with the emu after a heavy pursuit and was returned to its owner. No word if the bird has been charged with jay-walking.
