My Husband Has Kept And Displays Every Trophy He Has Ever Won
Jordan’s husband still has and displays every trophy he has ever won. Now that she is pregnant and they need the room for the baby, she has asked him to get rid of them and he won’t. So Jordan threw them out. Do you think its reasonable for him to keep every trophy he has ever won? Is Jordan wrong for getting rid of them?
Jonathan: Hey, Jordan.
Jordan: How’s it going?
Jonathan: It’s going fantastic for us. Sounds like you’re having a bit of a trial yourself, though. Well, what’s going on, Jordan?
Jordan: So I heard about your conversation regarding the whole Chris Pratt situation.
Jonathan: Oh, with the trophies. Yes.
Ayla: Yeah, that’s a that was a hot little debate we had the other day.
Jordan: So it was a little bit of a trigger button for me because it reminded me a lot about my husband. My husband grew up being the all star athlete, since high school. He was born with the gift of being able to play any type of sport, any type of game. I mean, that is his pride and joy. His sports.
Jonathan: Did you date him in high school? Were you guys together then?
Jordan: No, no, no. I didn’t know him until our later years. But I feel like I knew him or have dated him since then because he has now displayed every single trophy in our house.
Jonathan: From when he was a kid?
Jordan: From when he was a kid.
Ayla: All in one area of the house like a shrine, or is it like there’s one in the downstairs bathroom? One in the bedroom, five in the kitchen?
Jordan: There’s one room where a bunch of them are displayed and then there’s other rooms where they’re spread out. It’s literally like a museum.
Jonathan: Like a museum to his past.
Ayla: Oh my gosh.
Jonathan: Yeah, no, nobody wants to see this.
Jordan: And, it’s fine. I’m super happy that he’s proud of these. These awards and stuff. I have my awards, you know, things that I’ve won, but, I mean, I’m at the age where I don’t display them, okay? You know what I mean? So I keep asking him, Hey, do you mind if you just put them away? We have a baby on the way. We need the space. I would love to use the shelf space that he has the trophies on for the baby things, some family pictures, cute little stuffed animals. But he’s not budging. He’s not budging.
Jonathan: Just to make sure you’ve talked to him about this. He said he would take them down.
Jordan: Yeah. He’ll be like, oh, yeah, I’ll get it.
Ayla: And they always do that. I’ll get to it later, right?
Jordan: And then I bring it up again and now he’s just ignoring it.
Jonathan: Hoping that it’ll just go away.
Ayla: I say throw them away.
Jonathan: You throw them away now. Just kidding. Are you going to throw them away?
Ayla: It’d be mean, but…
Jordan: I mean, you’re like, wait a minute.
Jonathan: What is wrong with you two?
Ayla: If someone threw my trophies away, I’d be really mad too. But they do need to go somewhere, right?
Jonathan: Yeah. A hefty bag on the sidewalk, apparently. Are there any other of his childhood memories you’d like to throw away?
Ayla: His baby blanket?
Jonathan: Baby pictures? His mother? Would you go to this length if your spouse was keeping their trophies of their past in a room that you needed Jordan, Thank you so much, you monster.
