Thomas Rhett Has An ‘Intense’ Holiday Season
Thomas Rhett, his wife Lauren, and their four young daughters have the time of their lives when Christmas rolls around each year. Back in 2020, the couple hosted the CMA Country Christmas. It was a show that they filmed without a studio audience because of the pandemic. The guests for that year were Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, and more.
Thomas told us recently that his house is always a crazy good time around the holidays. He said, “It is really intense. We watch nothing but Elf 20 times in December and all the Harry Potter movies, and the old-school Rudolph. We get the biggest tree; I mean, sometimes it hits our ceiling and bends.”
He added, “We’re like the Griswold’s [from the National Lampoon Vacation films]. Lauren loves it, and we always have an ugly Christmas sweater party every year. We invite 100 of our friends over, and it’s always a really good time. We love Christmas.”

Rhett told us not long ago that he has a goal he's set for himself: he wants to write a classic Christmas song. Thomas does have a few Christmas songs out, his cover of “The Christmas Song” and an original he wrote with Chris Tomlinson called “Christmas in the Country,” but he feels those songs aren’t quite classics.
He said, “It’s kind of impossible to write a classic, you know what I’m sayin’? You just kinda hope that it’s cool enough to survive one year, and maybe it’ll get played the next year.”
Rhett added, “I think my dream in life would be to write a classic Christmas song that gets played until my kids are older, but there’s a lot of classics out there that are incredible.”
