Jelly Roll: His Prediction For Country Music
Jelly Roll had a big year in 2023, and he’s looking to the future of his music career and country music as a whole. He posted a few comments on his Insta Stories this week, saying, “Country music’s best days are still ahead to many great songs coming out of Nashville. It’s going to be a big 2024. In fact, I predict country artists will bridge the gap between rock, pop, and hip-hop next year. Big crossover collabs.”
On a personal note, in another slide, he wrote, “If you don’t bring peace, value, wisdom, or understanding to my life, I don’t want or need you in it. I don’t owe anyone anything – anyone I owed – I paid. Period.”
Jelly has been doing great things this holiday season, giving back to his hometown of Antioch, a suburb of Nashville, where he recently performed at a Walmart parking lot for a toy drive.
He explained, “I’m from Nashville, Tennessee. I grew up here, and I really take a lot of pride in that; it means a lot to me. I’ve watched this town grow so much; it’s been so incredible, and my spirit is always to give back. Who would I be if I was so blessed and not turn around and try to be a blessing?”
Jelly added, “So we chose the toy drive this year; it was kind of my daughter’s dream; she started doing it at a real small local level with her aunt, who owns a bar in White House, Tennessee, for the last four or five years and called it Buddy’s Toy Drive after my late father.”

He recently learned that he is a three-time GRAMMY nominee for the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which will air on February 4, 2024, on CBS.
Jelly posted a video on his Instagram after he heard the news; in the clip, he is openly weeping and wiping tears away. He says in the clip, shot on his phone at his Nashville area home, “I’m not sure if I’m gonna post this or not because I’m so emotional, but the greatest honor an artist can ever hear is that they’ve been nominated for a GRAMMY. I got to hear that this morning.”
He paused for a moment to get even more emotional before saying, “I haven’t cried like this since my daddy died. I tried to make this video seven times, ya’ll. I love you all, man. So f—— much.'”
