Massachusetts LOVES Pizza. Only 3 cities have more pizza joints per capita than Boston!
Forget the Roman Empire. I’m thinking about pizza. Almost every single day I have at least one passing thought about pizza. It’s one food I hope I never have to live without. And I’m happy to see that I’m amongst likeminded pizza lovers. A new study looked at pizza passion across the country and it turns out Massachusetts loves pizza. There’s a shocker.
In fact, only three states seem to love pizza more than us. Make your mental guesses now – the answer is coming up.
The study was commissioned by longtime Chicago pizzeria, Home Run Inn, and interestingly enough their home city of Chicago isn’t one of the three cities with more pizza locations per capita than Massachusetts. Not even close actually. Mass is 4th on the list, Chicago is not even in the Top 25!
The study showed that New York City has the highest rated pizza (via average rating). San Fransisco finished second there, followed in third by Chicago. Boston finished in 23rd on that list. BUT…
When it comes to MOST pizza locations per 100K people, Boston is much higher on the list taking 4th place. Only 3 cities have more pizza joints per capita than Boston. Got Your mental guesses ready? It’s time.
Boston has the 4th most pizzerias per 100K people at 48.0. Baltimore edges us out for third place with 49.6 pizza restaurants per 100K people. Las Vegas has the 2nd most amount of pizza spots per 100K, scoring a 54.0. And it’s not even close with the jump from #2 to #1. Miami, Florida has the most pizza joints per 100K residents in the country. There are 91.8 pizza places in Miami per every 100K residents there. Miami may not be known for their quality of pizza but they sure have the quantity.
Ok. Now that we’ve wet your pizza appetite…
