Meeting Taylor Swift Was Bebe Rexha’s 30th Birthday Wish Come True
Bebe Rexha is now 30, flirty, and thriving. Even better, she’s now met Taylor Swift. Rexha shared the story of meeting Swift for the first time at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, which was basically a birthday wish come true.
Rexha told People that “it was really nice” to finally meet Swift, who she called “the queen.” But, it was also a little nerve-wracking. “I was listening to her, but I was a little in shock,” she said. “I was like, ‘Holy f—.’ Taylor Swift was telling me that I’m awesome, and I kind of just … I’d had a couple of drinks, and I was nodding and she was talking to me, but I was like, ‘Thank you.'”
While that meeting might be a blur, Rexha told People it was “a nice moment.” “She’s cool. I had never gotten to meet her, and I don’t really know her like that yet,” Rexha added, “but she seems real, in person. She really does.”
Beyond music, the two also share something else in common: they’re both turning 30 this year. Hence, Rexha’s caption to her selfie with Swift: “1989 club.”
In honor of turning the big 3-0 on Aug. 30, Rexha released a new single, “Not 20 Anymore” that talks about growing up and growing more comfortable with herself.
