Garth Brooks Presidential Performance Makes ‘Chris Gaines’ Trend
As Garth Brooks made his own history singing “Amazing Grace” at the Presidential inauguration today (1/20) for President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Garth’s one-time alter ego Chris Gaines started trending on Twitter.
Many people started to tweet about Gaines and here are some of our favorites:
One of the best tweets involved Bernie Sanders, it read, “when you snagged a great seat for the Chris Gaines concert but Garth Brooks shows up instead.”

It's nice when Oklahomans do something NON-embarrassing amongst all this chaos and southern stupidity 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Good on Brooks❤

Seeing #ChrisGaines trending right now is awesome! Anyone that knows music & that album knows that it is fantastic a& ridiculously underrated. Not to mention it reached number 2 on the @billboard 200 chart back in 1999. I may just go watch the @VH1 “Behind The Music” episode now.

Chris Gaines for those of you that may not know was an alter ego Garth created in the late 1990’s to brand out and sing some hard rock music. He even created a whole persona, which at the time before Keith Urban became a superstar, read a lot like Urban’s bio.
