Why Blake Shelton Took The Twitter App Off His Phone
Blake Shelton is very well known for being fun on Twitter. Back when Twitter first launched, he was one of the first country artists to get on the app and, thanks to his sense of humor (and his penchant for tweeting while drunk) he amassed a huge following.
Today, Blake has 20 million followers on Twitter but his tweets aren’t as fun and crazy as they once were and there is a reason for that.
Shelton gets in a bit of trouble when he tweets after he drinks. He joked recently, “When you drink you’ve got s— to say, you know. So if I take it off my phone, I can’t say it.”
While Blake did take the app off his phone, he still tweets, and this morning (4/19) after a great performance on the ACM Awards last night (4/18) in Nashville, he tweeted a bit.
Shelton wrote, “Just felt so damn good to have this band back together to play some country music!!!! Here’s #MinimumWage from last night’s @ACMawards! Watch the full show on
@CBS and @paramountplus! #ACMawards.”

Was really special to perform #Austin on the one and only @opry stage for last night’s @acmawards. Still can’t believe it’s been 20 years for this song... thank you country music for believing in it!!! Unforgettable!!! #ACMawards https://t.co/d3l5b7DYuG pic.twitter.com/5j1d0KvlM2
