Catch Of The Week: Haley Chic
Meet Haley Chic from Arlington, MA
This Berklee College of Music grad’s voice speaks of barrooms and late nights, blue jeans and tequila, more than classrooms, notations and music theory. Though it’s all there, in a smooth, full surrender. Educated honky-tonk blues, perhaps? There’s a maturity, like a good whiskey. There’s culture and discipline. Woven throughout, there is youthfulness and brass that help define this talented singer/songwriter as an artist. When Haley sings, you believe what she is saying . It’s her background, her experience and her self-assuredness.
Years of listening and yearning lead Chic to where she is now. From kindergarten kitchen jams to the hallowed halls of Berklee helped to shape this artist. You can catch her performing all around Boston and New England. And maybe see her setting up events at some of your favorite live music venues, as Haley now does event planning!

What lead you to music: My parents always had the radio on, and my dad had a huge CD collection. I used to sit in my room and learn every word
How old when you started: I always took an interest in music, but I didn’t start singing, playing guitar and writing songs until I was 15.
Instruments played: Guitar and Piano
How would you describe your sound: A little country, a little pop and a little rock-n-roll
Awards/accolades: My song, “18 Degrees” was a finalist in the 2018 International Acoustic Music Awards
All- time favorite country songs: I love anything Johnny Cash. For newer music I love Kacey Musgraves’ “Slow Burn.” Sara Evans’ “Suds In The Bucket” was one of the first songs I ever listened to on Country 102.5!
Favorite country concert: I love to be in Nashville and go into all the bars/venues my friends are playing in! In Boston, Kenny Chesney at Gillette is always a go-to
What songs do you like now on Country 102.5: “Whiskey Glasses” by Morgan Wallen
If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: I actually am an event planner for the Lyons Group in Boston! I love having a day job, and playing at night and on the weekends. I work with all of my best friends! One of my venues is Loretta’s Last Call, which is an amazing country music venue
Craziest thing that ever happened in your music career: Meeting Jason Isbell was definitely a top ten moment
Fun facts: My parents own a hair salon, so I grew up around hairdressing- I’m pretty pretty good at doing hair! In high schoool I played soccer, basketball and softball. I lived in Nashville and I got to interview a bunch of big country stars while writing for the Nashville Country Club.
