Right now 80,000 people are infected with the virus and 2,700 deaths. People are scared that a massive international gathering like the Olympics would accelerate the spread of the virus. He urges athletes to continue training as usual because the current plan is to have the Olympics in Tokyo as scheduled. The only other times the Olympics have been cancelled was due to war. 1916 for WWI and 1940 and 1944 games because of WW2.
Paramount has put a halt to the production of Mission Impossible 7 after Italy reported 219 cases of coronavirus, the largest number outside of China, Japan and South Korea. Filming was to begin in Venice, which is now under government lock-down as officials closed schools, museums, and public events in addition to quarantining over 50,000 people to halt the spread of the virus.
