Mansfield Woman is First $1 Million Prize Winner In the New “Lifetime Millions” $50 Massachusetts Scratch Ticket
There’s a new lottery winner in Mansfield, Massachusetts!
Congratulations to Christine Wilson of Mansfield! She just became the very first winner in the brand new $50 Massachusetts scratch lottery ticket “Lifetime Millions.” We have featured this ticket in our previous posts about the Massachusetts State Lottery. This particular ticket was just introduced in February and is offering a grand prize of $1 million a year for life.
This is the second $50 ticket Massachusetts has offered.
“We released our first $50 lottery ticket last year, and it quickly became the best-selling ticket in the country,” said State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg, Chair of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. She went on to say people were requesting a bigger chance to win so this second $50 ticket.
Lump Sum Payment?
The one question everyone asks about people who win the lottery is: will you take the lump sum? Christine chose the lump sum cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).
The other question people always ask is: what will you do with the money? Christine has said she plans on buying an SUV. What kind of SUV has yet to be determined, but I’m sure she’ll find one she loves fairly quickly.
Where In Mansfield, Massachusetts was the winning lottery ticket sold?
The winning ticket was purchased at Dubs’s Discount Liquors, 30 Chauncy St. in Mansfield. That store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the wining ticket. The question becomes, would you take a special trip to this store because they are now considered lucky?
