Brooks and Dunn on Kacey Musgraves’ ‘Neon Moon’ Cover
Brooks & Dunn says that they had a specific reason to invite Kacey Musgraves to sing “Neon Moon” on their new album, Reboot.
“Kacey [was] doing “Neon Moon” in her show,” Brooks explained to The Boot. “Ronnie sends me a copy. He goes, ‘Hey, check this out.'”
Ronnie Dunn added, “It almost had an EDM slant to it. You think, you can play that for a hillbilly singer and writer and that’s not gonna fly and I think it’s awesome.”
“Neon Moon” was originally released by Brooks & Dunn in 1992 and became their third consecutive number one song. Musgraves has been putting it in ber sets since early 2018.
