Catch Of The Week: Gabby Patrice
Meet Gabby Patrice from Hingham!
Gabby Patrice’s voice is lavishly layered. It’s textured like a soft sand, worn like a smoky bar and spirited like a playing field. It’s all there; from the shores of Hingham, growing up as one of 13 children, to the lacrosse field at Endicott College, to countless bars across the country.
Her journey has taken her singing in kitchen to writing and performing regularly in Nashville. What lead Gabby to music? She explained, ” I have always loved music. I was breach in the womb and the nurse told my mom to play music and see if my head turned. Sure enough I turned to the music and I have been singing and dancing ever since I can remember! I have also been writing poetry since seventh grade which helped start my songwriting.”
Patrice started singing professionally in college. where she played varsity lacrosse for 4 years. Athletics were a big part of her life growing up, as all of her siblings were involved in sports. You would imagine spending all the time in the car traveling with her brothers and sisters to games and listening to the radio, could only fuel her fire for music. She started writing in high school and won awards for her poetry. Her natural gift of writing has taken her to many writers rounds, hosting, and networking in the city she now calls home.
Gabby Music
Gabby recently came back to New England, and I asked her to some share her new music. Her just released single, “Good As Gone” is about saying goodbye to things that weigh you down.
“White” hasn’t been released yet, but we got a sneak peak of this beautiful song.

- How would you describe your sound: Confident songs meant to motivate and empower the listener, and are easy to dance to!
- Who inspires you: My parents and siblings inspire me. I watch all the challenges they have faced and I admire their strength. Nashville is tough. I am a tiny fish in a brilliant pond and I think about my parents and siblings every time there is a new challenge. As far as music goes, I still and always will love Taylor Swift. I am also loving Maren Morris because she also motivates and empowers. I have also always loved Alanis Morrissette’s songwriting

- Favorite country concert: Phil Vassar and Kenny Chesney
- What songs do you like now on Country 1025: All of them! I love the song “Remember You Young” by Thomas Rhett, and “Love Wins” from Carrie Underwood
- If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: I have always loved acting and coaching. Maybe one of those!
- Day Job (if applicable): Song writing
- Most proud moment: I played Bridgestone Arena with a band during the intermissions of the Preds game! My brother was playing on the team, Brian Boyle, so it was a truly amazing experience
- Craziest thing that ever happened in your music career: When I had been in Nashville just 8 months I was at the airport after visiting family and I was headed to Nashville from Boston. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see a little girl and her mom. She asked if I was Gabby Patrice. She told me that it was her birthday, and for her birthday she asked to come see me in Nashville at the Listening Room. I honestly couldn’t believe it. Her mom asked if she could take a picture of us and I will never forget that
- Other things you like to do: Run, dance, hike. I love museums as well. I also love painting but I am so terrible at it!
- Frivolous fun facts: I am the 10th child in a family of thirteen. I have been acting in Nashville on different tv shows and music videos since I moved there. I have played gigs in Ireland and also sang at my brothers first mass in Rome!
