Per the New York Post, the virtual event will “Benefit the emergency relief nonprofit CORE, currently on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 providing testing and relief services in the United States. It also will support the REFORM Alliance, which is focused on passing laws to reform the criminal justice system and protecting the incarcerated population from the spread of COVID-19.”

Set to participate in the event is Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Jimmy Kimmel, Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, Morgan Freeman, Henry Golding, Shia LaBeouf, and Dane Cook. Sean Penn, who starred in the film, will also join in.

The outlet adds that the virtual live table read will be unrehearsed, so anything will go. They add that casting hasn’t been revealed yet, but Sean Penn won’t be playing his iconic character in the movie, Jeff Spicoli.

The Fast Times at Ridgemont High virtual event will take place on Aug. 21 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. It will air on CORE’s official Facebook page and on TikTok.
