Dorchester’s Donnie Wahlberg of  Blue Bloods and New Kids on the Block fame surprised a server, and the entire staff this past Saturday when he tipped  $2000 on a $35.27 bill!

The lucky recipient was Denise Andrews, who works at Marshland Restaurant in Plymouth. He’s been there before and Denise has been his server before, but as she tells it, “when he left he just said, ‘Denise, you’re all set. The payment is on the table,'” According to the restaurant he is always a good tipper. Needless to say, this tip had Denise’s jaw dropping, and the staff buzzing.

It certainly has been a rough year for restaurants, and this act of kindness and generosity certainly helped to lift spirits.

Donnie reached out on social media to encourage others to do the same, as part of the 2020 Tip Challenge

His wife, Jenny McCarthy, let everyone know what a good man Donny is,  at the beginning of the year, when he left a hefty tip at IHOP
