Pigs, hamsters, roosters, and other underdog animals might not be the first choice for pets, but they’re seriously awesome!
First up, pigs. These little piggies are super smart and can be trained just like dogs. Plus, they’re friendly and love belly rubs. Who can resist those cute snorts?
Hamsters make pocket-sized bundles of joy. They’re low-maintenance and perfect for small spaces. Watching them run on their wheels is pure entertainment.
Roosters, the unsung heroes of the barnyard. They’re excellent alarm clocks and provide fresh eggs with a crow! Plus, they’re surprisingly loyal and protective.
Chickens make fantastic feathered friends. They’re social and can even recognize their owners. Bonus: fresh eggs for breakfast every day!
Guinea pigs are like fluffy potatoes with feet. They’re gentle, great for kids, and their squeaks are just adorable.
Ferrets are energetic, curious, and love to play. They’re like mini acrobats and will keep you on your toes.
In short, these underdog animals make fantastic pets.
They bring joy, laughter, and a unique twist to the pet world. So, if you’re up for something different, give them a try! You won’t be disappointed.
Open hours in Boston, Methuen, and Centerville are from noon to 3 p.m. The Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem is open from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
