Keith Urban’s Shout Out To Dolly Parton
Keith Urban took a moment to congratulate Dolly Parton on the huge success of her Rockstar album, which was released in November and became the biggest album debut of her long career.
Keith posted an image of the album cover on his Insta Stories and wrote, “Huge congratulations to the most crazy-talented, kindest and inspiring icon of icons: @dollyparton. ROCKSTAR album number one in six categories – insane!!!!!”
The 30-track, star-studded collection debuts on top of six different Billboard charts. With 127,778 units sold in its inaugural week, Dolly’s Rockstar debuts at #1 on Billboard Top Rock Albums, #1 on Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums, #1 on Billboard Top Country Albums, #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales, #1 on Billboard Top Current Album Sales, and #1 on Billboard Independent Albums charts.
The album also debuted at #2 on Billboard Vinyl Albums and #2 on Billboard Tastemaker Albums charts. Released on Parton’s own Butterfly Records with worldwide distribution via Big Machine Label Group, Rockstar joins Drake’s For All The Dogs – Scary Hours Edition and Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in the overall top 3, marking Parton’s career-best rank on the all-genre list.
Urban and Dolly have worked together a few times over their careers; in 2005, Keith joined her on a song from her Those Were The Days album, where they covered Johnny Mathis’s “Twelfth of Never.”
In October, Parton also inducted Keith into the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

Urban and Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill will return to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday (12/5) for Urban’s “All for the Hall” concert.
The concert benefits the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It will include performances by musical directors Urban and Gill, as well as Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Jordan Davis, HARDY, Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood, and other special guests.
Keith said of the event, “Getting to curate, create, and collaborate on our All for the Hall shows has always been mad fun for me. There’s so much love and respect for all the work the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum does, not only from the artists and the industry but the audience too.”
He added, “I love that Vince will be there with me again this year – and we have another incredible ‘guest list’ and always some surprises too!”
