Recognize that song? You should, because it was a very popular one in Disney’s Frozen 2. The writer of, “Some Things Never Change” is Robert Lopez. He’s a hell of a songwriter and wrote all of the songs in Frozen and Frozen 2. Love is an open doorrrrrrrrrrr!
Well, I’m not sure if we can let this one go, because Robert Lopez is being sued by a songwriter who claims that his 2001 track called “That Girl” was ripped off by Robert! The documents that were filed by Daniel Grigson say that the song’s beat, rhythm, feel, theme and even words are scarily similar. Daniel even hired an analyst to compare the two tracks and the verdict is….
Not only do the two songs sound alike, but they’re both similar on a technical level.
So what now? Daniel wants Disney and Robert to cough up the profits made from the song, and he wants Disney to stop using the track. Both songs are below. What do you think?
