Dierks Bentley: What Tim McGraw Told Him When He Became A Dad
Jon Pardi announced the birth of his and his wife Summer’s first child, a baby girl named Presley Fawn, over the weekend (2/18), and already his buddy Dierks Bentley has issued some baby advice.
Dierks told us in an interview yesterday (2/21) for his upcoming album, Gravel and Gold, “Ah man, I remember [Tim] McGraw telling me, ‘Just get your sleep now, you’ll never sleep the same ever again.’ And he’s right, even when you’re on the road, or I was in Colorado last week, and even now, you’re always thinking about them. It’s like a piece of you is missing; you never sleep the same ever again.”
He added of Jon, “You know, he’s such a great guy; when he was on tour with us, he was so great to my girls, and I’m so glad he had a girl first. I think the greatest thing that could happen to any guy is to have a girl as your first kid. If you have a boy, you kind of know how it is, you know, what you’re gonna do. Girls completely knock you off your rocker. You are kind of remade; it tenderizes you.”
Bentley gushed of his new father friend, “He’ll be a great dad. I love Summer; she’s so sweet. It’s fun watching these guys go through this, and I can’t wait to catch up with him. I’ll tell him it’s gonna be six months before you all get back on your feet, so settle in for the experience. But it does go fast; I can’t believe how old mine are.”
Pardi posted to Instagram recently, along with a black and white image of the baby, “Our Baby girl is here and ready to Pardi haha DAD joke! @summer_pardi Presley Fawn Pardi 2•18•2023 5:05 am 7lbs 12oz 20.25 inches.”
