Am I The Only One Who Thinks Saving Baby Teeth Is Weird?

My wife tends to not be a very sentimental person. She has no problem with giving away our kids toys. Once when I needed some paper to burn to start the fire on our BBQ grill she handed me some of our oldest son’s drawings. She hates clutter, if it were up to her our house would be clear of anything older than 3 years and two months. So I was shocked when she came to me the other day and said “Should I mix our kids teeth together?” Without looking up from my laptop I said “what are you talking about?” And then she came over and dropped a plastic tooth shaped container on my keyboard. That’s when I found out a horrifying truth. My wife has been saving our kids baby teeth!

Is saving baby teeth crazy?
I thought it was weird. She assured me it was normal. So being the responsible talk show host (and terrible husband) that I am I took the topic to the airwaves. I told the story from the paragraph above and asked the audience if they thought it was weird. The overwhelming response was “Nope!” We had people calling in saying that they kept their kids umbillical chords, they made a ring out of their breast milk, they kept locks of their kids hair, they kept baby teeth in a jar of alcohol. Here’s the craziest thing, in a recent survey 2 out of 3 parents said they keep their kids baby teeth! Here is our discussion:
The fine line between creepy and loving
The problem is there is a fine line between being a loving parent and being a serial killer. If you are keeping your own kids teeth that’s fine. If you are keeping the teeth of the kid who lives down the block you’re a freak.
But even if it’s innocent it still feels weird. How would these kids feel if they found that box after you died without you there to explain why you had a box full of teeth and hair?

I’ve found the weirdest, strangest things for sale on Etsy.
Etsy is a great website for artists and entrepreneurs to sell their items on the “world wide web.” Over the years I have bought many things on the website. Bridal shower gifts for my bridesmaids, personalized towels for my nieces, and even a taxidermy mouse. The site is a fantastic place to find personalized gifts for anyone you love (and even yourself).

Don’t ask me why, but I was thinking to myself one day, “What’s the strangest thing I can find on Etsy?” I figured I’d discover some funky Christmas ornaments, a silly T-shirt, and maybe a totally inappropriate political mug. But what actually I found was so much worse, and funnier than that.
My search on Etsy brought me to some weird objects. Two-headed taxidermy ducks? Celebrity inspired “art” and animal’s pooping out of toothpaste tubes. (You’re going to have to scroll down to see that one). It totally freaked me out, I’m not going to lie.

Either way, I have been a supporter of Etsy for many years now, and I am confident that you’ll get a great chuckle after you see what I’ve found on the website. And if you are an artist that’s always wanted to sell your personalized items like t-shirts, tumblers, embroidered sweatshirts, and wedding gifts, you might want to consider signing up to sell your items.
According to the website, it’s easy to become a vendor. Of course they take a percentage of every sale, because if they didn’t, they wouldn’t make money. But you can look into the x’s and o’s that at your will. Once you do though, leave it to people like me to buy the craziest things out there. What I’ve learned about humans is that there truly is something out there for everyone.
